With its tailored design, the AlumaBase® fits snugly to your patio cover h-post to offer the ultimate finishing touch. With its construction being the highest quality ASA with color throughout UV inhibitors, you can rest assured that the AlumaBase® was built to last.

But how can I use the AlumaBase® on my patio cover, you may ask? Let’s dive into it.

11 different color AlumaBase

The common route:

There are several things to consider when deciding on the customized features to build your aluminum patio cover. What end styles do I want? Do I want a single header or a double header? Do I want a solid cover or a lattice cover? And most importantly, what colors will I choose? Should I match it to the color of my home or the trim or do I want to match it to my patio furniture?

And how does the AlumaBase® fall into place?

The most common route homeowners take when purchasing the AlumaBase® is to match it to the color of their patio cover. This offers a beautiful and seamless addition to your aluminum patio cover that will never go out of style.

We make it easier than ever! If you have an existing aluminum patio cover, but aren’t quite sure as to what color it is, our experts can quickly determine that for you. No need to guess which color only to find out it was the wrong color. Give us a call or send us an email and we’d be happy to assist you.

Add a bit of flare:

Another option for color choice when adding the AlumaBase® to your patio cover, is to add a complimenting contrast color. We have seen mojave tan patio covers with white bases, brown covers with black bases, gray patio covers with white bases, and several other combinations.

There is no right or wrong way to use a contrasting AlumaBase® color on your aluminum patio cover or pergola. If it fits your outdoor patio's color palette or your own personal taste, you’re sure to be pleased with the outcome. Your imagination is the limit!

Add one or add two?

Typically, homeowners will utilize what the AlumaBase® was initially designed for, and cover the bottom of their patio cover’s h-post to hide the metal hardware we all don’t care to see. Installing the AlumaBase® to each post base is an elegant and simple way to elevate your patio cover and the overall vibe of your outdoor getaway. When going this route you will avoid the need for additional alterations to your aluminum patio cover’s posts, or the need to move any gutter spouts, which is a big job in and of itself. Adding the AlumaBase® to the bottom of the posts is a simple and quick way to give an immediate change to the look of your patio.

In a unique way to use the AlumaBase®, homeowners have placed it at both the top and bottom of their patio cover h-posts to give it a true column look. We love that people have thought of it and it’s given another way to make your patio space your own. When considering this option, please keep in mind that you will be required to make adjustments to your patio cover posts or move the placement of your cover’s downspouts. Most aluminum patio covers come with a downspout on both end posts, but potentially more for more oversized patio covers. Consider using the company that built your patio cover, or a patio cover contractor that offers these types of services in your area.

If you are thinking about or in the process of getting your aluminum patio cover installed, we encourage you to speak with your contractor so that they can make any necessary adjustments and add the AlumaBase® during installation.
