Color Options for Aluminum Patio Covers – And the difference between the main manufacturers.
It can be overwhelming when shopping around for aluminum patio covers for the first time. You may inquire with multiple patio cover contractors and notice that each has different colors with different names. You may be confused and have questions, so we are here to answer them. In this blog, we will review the leading manufacturers of aluminum patio cover materials and provide insight into the different variations of their colors.
Who are the manufacturers?
There are 4 main manufacturers that supply aluminum patio cover materials to contractors. The first, and most widely known, is Alumawood by Amerimax. Amerimax was the first to introduce these lightweight structures. Duralum followed with their Weatherwood line, then United Duralume Products’ Duracool, and lastly, Four Seasons Building Products’ Elitewood line. All four companies are comparable and produce high-quality materials for aluminum patio covers. Which brand of material you get is purely the preference of your chosen patio cover contractor or DIY kit supplier.
What colors are available and what’s the difference between the 4 manufacturers?
With a few exceptions, the colors offered by all four manufacturers are the same, they just present them with different names. Below we have provided a color chart that shows each row of the same color, but showcases the different color names under each manufacturer.
For example, Alumawood’s Latte is Duralum’s Beechwood and Four Seasons’ Beige, with United Duralume also calling their color Latte. But across the board, the color will appear the same when installed.
What color is your patio cover?
You may need to know the color of your aluminum patio cover when shopping for products like the AlumaBase® and AlumaTable®. While the AlumaTable® is available in 4 colors and can be a beautiful accent piece, the AlumaBase® is traditionally matched to your new or existing patio cover.
Minus the obvious colors like White, Gray, Brown, and Black, the other colors can be quite difficult to determine if you’re not already familiar with them. Especially once you introduce United Duralume Products’ exclusive colors, Almond and Cameo.
The easiest way to determine your patio cover’s color is to look back on your contract or paperwork provided by your installer. You’ll likely see your ceiling color and trim color. Your patio cover h-posts will be in your trim color and is what you’ll match the AlumaBase® to.
If you do not have any paperwork, because perhaps the previous owner had it installed, the next best option is to reach out to us personally. We have been in the patio cover business for 30 years and we are happy to utilize our knowledge to assist you with determining the color of your aluminum patio cover.
We can also let you know what manufacturer supplied your patio materials. This could be critical, because your trim color may say Almond, but if you don’t know if you have United Duralume or Four Seasons, you could end up ordering the wrong color.
